Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson - Unreleased Songs!
Wow is Brian May gonna be mad at me. Some bozo posted these previously unreleased songs on YouTube (and I'm the bozo sharing them with you.)...
Before I get to these very cool secret treasures, a bit of guilt from Mercury bandmate Brian May.
May revealed the existence of the songs earlier this week, saying, "He (Jackson) used to come and see us when we were on tour in the States. He and Freddie became close friends, close enough to record a couple of tracks together at Michael's house, tracks which have never seen the light of day."
But the rocker has been left incensed after two tunes by the pair, State Of Shock and There Must Be More To Life Than This, ended up on video sharing website YouTube.com.
He fumes, "The music thieves at work as usual."
Well sorry, Brian. I know it's wrong and I suck but I can't help it...
Remember the song Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger did together in the 80s called "State of Shock" ? This is a version featuring Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury. Maybe Michael was checking out his options before choosing Jagger? Anyway, it's wild to hear.
Here's another (sappy) track called "More to Life Than This"...it's still cool to hear something you've never heard before from amazing Freddy...almost like he's still here.

What others are saying
- Freddie and MJ recording together?Yes, Hildi, I agree, you suck ;-) and (you naughty girl) you deserve a good spanking for posting these never-intended-for-release singles on Q96's website.....but man, does Freddie sound great on these songs or what? Somebody tell Brian to take "There's More to Life Than This" back to his producer and have it cleaned up and release it as a memorial to both men. I don't know what MJ was thinking, but Freddie's voice is a much better match to his own than Mick's on "State of Shock".....though I'm not sure what the repercussions could be if you cleaned THAT one up and formally released it.
Sorry, Brian, but they're good (if unfinished) songs!
