"Iron" Dave has been broadcasting to rock radio audiences since 1987, and over a decade as part of WHTQ; he's been on in the evening ( 7p-12mid, '98-'00) hosting Get the Led Out , a stint in mid days (10a-2p, '00-'01) and even mornings as a producer (2001-present) You can always catch him Weekend mornings through the middle of your Saturdays and Sundays. ( Hey, take him to the beach with you, he needs some sun...)
Here's a guy who lives the rock'n'roll lifestyle... an avid biker, you might find him tooling around on the back roads of Central Florida finding things to share with listeners. Dave's proud of his claim to the title "U.S. Marine" ("...once a Marine, ALWAYS, a Marine!") (1982-'85) and he's also trained in the martial arts ( an eclectic style called Torasamdo, under the instruction of former 96.5 air personality Bob Rose ...)
You can also catch Iron Dave performing around Central Florida and beyond as an experienced musician and vocalist;
he fronted Southern Rock act DIABLO CANYON , for several years, appearing as an opening act for 38 Special, Marshall Tucker, Diamond Rio, Edgar Winter, Mark Farner, Georgia Satellites, David Allan Coe and more... then then he spent some time with the bluesier KINGSTREET as a guitarist and vocalist, sharing events with Gator Country and Bad Company's Brian Howe.
Fully into classic rock both on and off the air, you can hear Dave on WHTQ Saturdays from 6a-2p & Sundays from 7am til 2pm. And of course, for years Dave's been our go- to guy, so on occasion you'll hear him filling in as producer for Dixon & Willoughby, or on air for Hildi or Buckley!
