Florida Man Offers Rights to Name His Unborn Baby to Fight Gas PricesWhen three Florida radio hosts set out to learn what their listeners would be willing to do in exchange for a $100 gas card, they never dreamed they'd get anyone as eager as father-to-be David Partin. Partin, who called into the Orlando, Fla.-based Dixon & Willoughby morning show early Monday morning, will enjoy the spoils of a couple tanks of free gas in exchange for welcoming son Dixon Willoughby Partin into the world this December. He won the radio gas card contest by offering the hosts the chance to name his first-born child. The co-hosts generously agreed to drop the "&" from the name. "If nothing else, he's going to have a damn good story behind his name and it will give him something to talk about," Partin, 26, said of his future son, due Dec. 28. And while many expecting parents debate baby names for months, Partin and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Samantha Bailey, told ABCNews.com that the radio contest actually helped narrow down an already contentious issue. Samantha happens to be very smart with her decision to do this because it got your panities in a wad didn't it??? get over it.
love you mantha - Dixon Willoughby PartinMany couples these days can use some help. Let's not complain because they tried to win a few dollars of gas. Help them out instead, I'm sure they will be great parents and little Partin will have much to talk about when he gets older.
- Way to goThanks for making the rest of the country think we from Florida are complet morons, Who cares what the Wal-mart name tag is going to say in 18 years
- I think people should woory about their own life and not ours, b-c when u are trashing other people that means ur hidding stuff from your own life dixon & willoughby is not not a bad name i senn worse so go do something better with ur life and stop judging people
Samantha the mom - Baby NamingYou guys have hit the big time-FOX news is carrying the story.
http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2008Jul12/0,4670,ODDGasNamingRights,00.html - Dixon and Willoughby Partin(1) Shorten the name..."Dixon Willoughby Partin". Kid still gets a story to tell yet can live with the name.
(2)Establish a college fund for the kid. A couple thousand now will be worth something when it is time to go to college.
(3) Alan and the station general manager need to kick in to the college fund too. Lets say each of you ponies up for $1000. - Why do some people procreate?I think these two shouldn't even be allowed to have a kid.
