Tickets for the first Van Halen tour in more than 22 years with David Lee Roth as lead vocalist and Eddie Van Halen's 16-year-old son, Wolfgang, as bassist, resulted in immediate sell outs in multiple markets around the country, including Charlotte, Detroit (Palace), 2 shows in Toronto, 2 in Chicago and one in Philadelphia.
Additional shows were added in Philadelphia (Wachovia Center 10/3) and Detroit (Joe Louis Arena 10/20) which go on sale Saturday, August 25th.
Additional announcements regarding on sale dates will be made in the coming weeks. (A rumored Long Island, New York show November 7 would make 30 dates total - announced so far.)
An additional stop was also scheduled for Washington, DC's Verizon Center (11/1), extending Van Halen's historic trek to 29 dates in all. Tickets for the Washington, DC date will go on sale this Friday, August 24th. In addition, tickets for the band's October 30th show at Boston's TD Banknorth Garden go on sale Saturday, August 25th.
The tour kicks off Sept. 27 in Charlotte, N.C. (scroll down to see the complete list of dates). Tickets range in price from $50 - $150 for regular seating and up to $700 for VIP packages (more details on that below).

At the press conference, Monday, August 13 to officially announce the widely-anticipated tour, original vocalist Roth made it known, "This is not a reunion; this is a new band."
That was just one of several memorable quotes that emanated from the L.A. press conference where Roth, whose shtick may not have played on radio (as his jokes about his failed stint as an on-air personality revealed), reminded those in attendance why rock 'n' roll is a better thing with his color and bravado back in the scene.
Walking in with Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang to the strains of the band's 1984 smash 'Jump,' Roth waved to the assembled press and, like the most skilled of politicians, shook hands on his way from the back of the conference room to the stage.
Serving as the band's and the conference's emcee, he welcomed everybody, got in a couple of quick jokes and then said, "I'd like to start with this" before hugging Eddie, to the delight of many in the room.
For all Diamond Dave's humor, which included jabs at Bono, Michael Jackson and the Police, the crowded room was ultimately gathered to receive news of the impending tour, after all.
Roth promised that the reunited Van Halen would not disappoint. "The bar is set unbelievably high," he said. "We know what your expectations are. Are you prepared for it to be better than it ever f***ing was?"
Maybe the most surprising sentiment came from Eddie Van Halen after Roth spoke about the band's upcoming plans.
After Roth said, "Saving the world is Bono's job. We just want to save a hundred cities; then we want to save Europe; then I want to talk to you about Hong Kong. Then we make an album; lots of big dreams here, lots of ambitions."
Eddie simply added, "Just know this: We are a band; we will be continuing."
As for what fans can expect on the tour, Roth says it will be vintage Van Halen.
"We've got 25 of your greatest hits, all the favorites that you've been hearing tearing out of the back of a pickup truck at the Burger King drive-thru for how many summertimes?" he spieled.
"It's all very well intact; the same s***ty attitude with a whole new look, stereo sound in hi-fi style."

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "This is not like the Police," said David Lee Roth at Monday's LA press conference to announce the first Roth-fronted Van Halen tour since 1984.
"The idea is that this will go on and on and on. This is like a brotherhood like it never was before." Added Eddie Van Halen, "None of us want to give you less than our best. We are at our best."
Tickets go on sale Saturday, August 18th for the first 25 dates beginning September 27 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and wrapping up on December 11 in the Canadian city of Calgary. Key stops include Chicago (October 16, 18), New York City (November 13) and their native Los Angeles (November 20).
Although David Lee Roth will be rejoining the band as frontman, it will not exactly be a reunion of the classic lineup. Bassist Michael Anthony was ousted and is now on tour with another former Van Halen frontman, Sammy Hagar.
Both tours will run simultaneously as fate would have it. The Hagar/Anthony tour begins with Anthony performing early Van Halen hits and later in the show, both artists join together as "The Other Half" to perform the band's tunes together with other musicians.
Replacing Anthony will be Eddie Van Halen's 16-year-old son Wolfgang.
More excerpts from Monday's [8/13] press conference:
On how the band's getting along:
Eddie Van Halen: "We're getting along better than we ever have before."
On why founding bassist Michael Anthony is not part of the reunion:
David Lee Roth: "Michael Anthony is part of this band's history. This band has many alumni. I am one of them."
On the setlist for the upcoming tour:
David Lee Roth: "We decided to do everything you'd expect, but make it high speed, low drag. Everything that got me fired from radio."
On the decision earlier in the year to postpone the so Eddie could head to rehab:
Eddie Van Halen: "None of us wanted to give you less than our best. We are at our best."
Roth and Van Halen were supposed to hit the road earlier this year for a reunion tour, but plans fell through when Eddie Van Halen entered rehab in March for undisclosed issues. His illness also scuttled a potential reunion at the group's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction later that month.
Eddie's been seen at several public events with cosmetically perfected teeth, glowing skin and a sharp mind. Read his first post-rehab interview here.
Roth, now 52, quit Van Halen in 1985, during the band's heyday, in hopes of attaining solo stardom. Those dreams crashed and Van Halen continued successfully with Sammy Hagar on vocals.
The band's luck ran out a decade later when Hagar and Van Halen acrimoniously parted ways, and a new album with a third singer tanked. Since then, both Roth and Hagar have briefly aligned with Van Halen, and the two singers even toured together, despite Roth's barely concealed enmity for Hagar.
