A California woman has credited reclusive Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose with saving her Malibu home, according to Los Angeles television station KTTV.
The woman, who lives next door to Rose with her husband and three children, said that Rose helped save the family's residence from the wildfire that swept through their area last November, injuring six firefighters and destroying dozens of other houses.
The woman, who was not identified, said that she knew her home was safe even though her family wasn't there at the time, explaining, "We have Axl Rose as our neighbor, and him and Beta (Lebeis), his manager, they saved our house together with the firefighters...they just hosed down whatever fire there was in the trees, in the palm trees, and they saved our house, they literally saved our house."
The woman said she and her family had lived in their Malibu neighborhood for 13 years and had been through several fires, but "this was really the worst."
Rose's own home and some of his surrounding property was damaged by the fire, but was pushed back before it could cause more destruction.
Lebeis told local station KCAL-TV at the time, "(Axl) helped a lot. He did a lot. He was with the hose everywhere."
The fire came just a month after a series of devastating blazes that ravaged Southern California, causing tens of millions of dollars of damage in the area and destroying more than 50 homes, including one owned by Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.
