Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones has disowned the band's ex-road manager after "he made Bonzo look such a monster."
This isn't the first time Richard Cole sold "exaggerated" band secrets for cash.
Cole toured with Zeppelin when the band was at its peak in the late 60s and 70s. He became the primary source for "Hammer of the Gods" - a 1985 book touting the massive excesses of the band on the road. That book was written by author Stephen Davis.
When Cole explained that he exaggerated those accounts for drug money and then got clean, Jones forgave him - but not this time.
Cole again secretly spilled his guts in print - this time for his own book, "Stairway to Heaven: Led Zeppelin Uncensored." It came out in 2002.
Said Jones, "I saw Richard after that book (Hammer Of The Gods), and he'd cleaned up and said he did it for the money. I went, 'OK,' because I knew him from before the band so we made our peace.
"And then another book came out, Stairway To Heaven, which made Bonzo (drummer John Bonham) look such a monster. I've never spoken to him again."
