Joan Jett: Her Look is Different But Not Her Support of US Troops

Joan Jett was at Fort Hood, Texas this past weekend. The former singer for the Runaways and The Blackhearts dined with the troops, signed autographs and gave em a rock show.

Ms. Jett was an entertainer for the US troops in Afghanistan in 2002. In fact, she is a regular army performer. Last weekend's visit marks her 6th USO Tour of Duty.

She first played with Joan Jett and The Blackhearts in 1982 for servicemen and women. That was the year one of her biggest hits 'I Love Rock and Roll' was released. The Blackhearts reunited in 1999 and last year released an album of sports related songs titled 'Unfinished Business'.

The American Troops stationed in Korea also have a gig to go to this weekend. Twisted Sister are over there giving the American soldiers a dose of 'We're Not Gonna Take It'. The Twisted Sister shows mark the start of their comeback.
