SIGN PETITION FOR ZEP TOUR

Zep Not a Priority for Plant Right Now

Robert Plant has cast further doubt on a Led Zeppelin reunion tour, because he's not ready to pledge his full commitment to the group.

Plant joined his fellow bandmates for a one-off tribute concert in London last December and fans have been waiting for what they feel is an inevitable world tour announcement ever since.

And while guitarist Jimmy Page has vowed to consider a tour after Plant concludes his string of live dates with new musical partner Alison Krauss, the singer admits going on the road with the legendary band is not one of his top priorities.

He says, "I really enjoyed playing with my friends, and we are a lot closer because of it. But the responsibility, the whole deal...it's a whole different thing to what I'm doing with Alison."

I don't know about you guys but I feel like Robert Plant is cheating on us and Alison Krauss is the other woman.

Plant - Not Zep - Announces Tour for May

by Sarah Hall for E Online - December 14, 2007

File a Led Zeppelin reunion tour under "What May and What Should Really Come to Be." Just don't count on it happening this spring.

Robert Plant has set aside the month of May for a European tour with Allison Krauss, with whom he collaborated on the recent album, Raising Sand.

Plant and Krauss will kick off their jaunt across Europe May 5 in Birmingham, England before continuing on to Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway, it was announced Thursday.

The trek is slated to wrap May 22 in London.

The duo has also said they plan to tour in the U.S., though no dates have been announced.

Plant, of course, is fresh off of Led Zeppelin's hugely successful one-night show at London's O2 Arena Monday, which sparked renewed rumors that the rockers would go on to launch a full-scale reunion tour. Most notably, the rockers were being touted as a headlining act for his year's Bonnaroo festival, which is set for June 12-15 in Manchester, Tennessee.

However, despite the high hopes of fans and concert promoters alike, no such plans have been announced.

Plant, in particular, has seemed opposed to the idea of hitting the road with his former band mates.

"The whole idea of being on a cavalcade of merciless repetition is not what it's all about," he told London's Sunday Times before the O2 show.

That said, if the band did decide to tour, there's little doubt that it would be a sell-out event.

More than 20 million fans entered the lottery for tickets to Monday's concert, for which only 16,000 tickets were available, according to organizers.

It seems plenty of fans are ready and waiting to get the Led out.

Zep Tour Announcement Could Come Soon

From Sal Cirrincione for Premiere Radio Network - December 12, 2007

With the Led Zeppelin reunion concert just hours old, the rumor mill was ripe yesterday [December 11] with stories of an imminent tour announcement.

London's Daily Mirror quotes a ticket-agent source saying, "There is definitely a full tour coming. We've all been told to get ready for the dates to be confirmed. [An announcement is] expected to be within days to capitalize on the excitement of the reunion. Promoters have been falling over themselves to get the band to agree."

Zeppelin's office was unavailable for comment but see below for their manager's comments.

(From Steve Reynolds, Premiere Radio Network, MTV and other reports - December 11, 2007)

First off, despite words to the contrary, MTV is reporting that the massive Led Zeppelin reunion will be released on DVD.

Initially, Zeppelin spokespeople said that would not be the case. A short time later, guitarist Jimmy Page said it would be recorded - but only for the band's personal use.

Perhaps after rehearsals went so well, the band realized the quality would be up to their exacting standards and felt good enough to announce it would be shared with the rock public.

Rumors of a Led Zeppelin tour have been swirling for weeks, but band manager Bill Curbishley says nothing's been booked or even been talked about.

"With a synergy like this going on, it would be an act of cosmic perversity to stop now," Pete Paphides of The Times of London wrote.

"Everybody's been pushing for that, [so] I guess the subject's going to come up. And it's entirely up to them. You know, they're at a stage in their life where's misery's optional. "

Curbishley admits he'd love to see Led Zeppelin do a whole tour:

"Do I want them to tour? Yeah, yeah, I guess so because I figure that if they don't tour within the next couple of years then they never will. And when I toured Jimmy and Robert together like some 10, 12 years ago I thought that was a great experience for the fans and for every one else. And this could be even better. "

Randy Phillips of A-E-G Live, the concert promotion company that runs the O-2, tells the L-A Times that he planned to meet with Curbishley in London this week and hand him a huge offer.

Robert Plant, who has seemed to be the most reluctant member about a tour, said in an interview with London's Sunday Times, "It wouldn't be such a bad idea to play together from time to time."

But he then backtracked a moment later and said, "No, no, no. Somebody else inside me was saying that. Not the bloke from Wolverhampton, the bloke from the land of the ice and snow, the bloke with his shirt unbuttoned down to his waist -- and he can shut up. We're not having any more of that. It was great, but I've got to go down the highway now."

As of now, all Plant has lined up is a tour in April with Allison Kraus to promote their duets album Raising Sand.
